AYUR EYE CARE - A Seminar on Eye Health

A Seminar on the topic AYUR EYE CARE was organised by Department of Shalakya Tantra and Swasthavritta evum Yoga, RK University Ayurvedic College and Hospital on 2nd August 2025 from 9 am to 12 pm at SOE Seminar Hall.

Presidential address was delivered by Dr. Manoj Pande, Director of Ayurvedic College and hospital, RK University followed by Welcome Speech by Dr. Priyanshu Rathod, Director IQAC, Dean - Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Aarti Joshi, Dean, Faculty of Management; Dr. Pravin Tirgar, Director, School of Pharmacy from RK University; Dr. Sahadas Aradhye and Dr. Rahul Arsude from Murlidhar Ayurveda College were also part of inauguration of the Seminar ‘Ayur Eye Care’ at Seminar Hall, SOE, RK University, Rajkot.

Total registrations for the event were around 190. This Seminar helped the delegates to gain:-

  • Awareness about Digital Hygiene and Digital Eye strain
  • Better understanding of the Lifestyle modification with respect to Dinacharya practices and Do's and Don'ts in Diet
  • Eye treatment for Digital Eye strain among Heavy screen users. Eye exercises and Yoga practices which can be practiced on daily basis.

The Sessions were taken by the following Speakers on the topics -

1. Digital eye strain awareness by Dr. Shafna Hameed, Assistant Professor from Shalakya Tantra Department, RKU ACH.

2. Do's and Don'ts in Diet and Lifestyle by Dr. Nimmi A N, Assistant Professor from Swasthavritta Evum Yoga Department RKU ACH.

3. Yoga Session by Dr. Divya R , Associate Professor from Swasthavritta Evum Yoga Department RKU ACH.

4. Kriyakalpa treatment for Eye and Eye exercises Demonstration by Dr. Sangita Kamaliya , Associate Professor, Shalakya Tantra Department, RKU ACH.

5. Demonstrations of Eye treatments -Netra Pichu, Seka, Tarpana, Aschyotana

6. Demonstration of Dinacharya procedures -Shiro abhyanga & Padabhyanga; Nasya , Anjana ,Shiro Pichu and Jala Neti. All treatment Demonstration were carried out at our Ayurvedic Hospital batch wise in 4 treatment rooms by our Final Year BAMS students. Delegates got live demonstration and experienced the above treatments.
