Educational Visit to Regional Food Laboratory, Rajkot

On 28.11.2024, an educational visit to Regional food laboratory (Food and drug control administration) Rajkot was organised by the Department of Agadtantra, Department of Rasashastra and Department of Dravyaguna, Ayurvedic college and Hospital, RK University
The primary objective of this visit was to provide practical exposure to second-year BAMS students regarding analytical techniques used in food testing and quality control.
During the visit, 56 students gained valuable insights into-
Observation of Analytical Techniques:
- Chromatography: Students observed the principles and applications of chromatography in food and drug analysis.
- Spectrometry: Students learned about the use of spectrometry in detecting adulterants and contaminants in food and drug products.
Observation of Food Adulteration Tests:
- Colorimetric tests
- Microscopic examination
- Chemical tests
The educational visit to the Food Laboratory, Rajkot, was a successful endeavor. It provided valuable insights into the practical aspects of food analysis and quality control. The students actively engaged in the activities and showed keen interest in the techniques demonstrated.
