Ayurveda Day 2025: Dry Day for Dengue Prevention
Posted on October 17th, 2025 @ 03:32pm
As part of the Ayurveda Day 2025 celebrations on 10th September, the Ayurvedic College and Hospital at RK University spearheaded a proactive initiative to combat the mosquito menace by observing a "Dry Day" across the RKU campus. This campaign was designed to eliminate stagnant water, which serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes responsible for spreading diseases such as dengue, malaria, and chikungunya.
The Dry Day initiative was not a standalone effort but followed a series of successful drives previously conducted on 6th August, 28th August, and 3rd September 2025. These consistent actions reflect the institution’s commitment to public health and preventive care, aligning with the principles of Ayurveda.
A meticulous inspection of the campus was undertaken, during which final-year students from the Ayurvedic College and Hospital actively participated in clean-up operations. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Shreekant Mundada, Dr. Ruksar Piparvadiya, and Dr. Vinita Sharma, the students worked diligently to identify and eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites. Items such as water containers, coolers, and flower pots were emptied, cleaned, and positioned to prevent water accumulation.
This impactful campaign was organized by the Department of Kayachikitsa, with strategic leadership provided by our director Dr. Manoj Pande. The initiative not only promoted environmental hygiene but also served as a practical demonstration of Ayurvedic principles in action, emphasizing prevention and community well-being
